Boyfriend of woman whose body was found in Oceanside garage arrested

OCEANSIDE (CNS) – The live-in boyfriend of a 21-year-old woman whose
body was found in the garage of an Oceanside home was in custody Friday accused
of murder, according to a published report.

The discovery was made on Thursday in the 300 block of Leeward Court
near El Camino Real after the woman's parents asked police to check on her
welfare, it was reported.

Officers were sent to the residence around 12:10 p.m., according to U-T
San Diego, which reported that the victim's boyfriend was taken to the police
station, where he confessed to the killing the woman.

The woman's body had been concealed from view and showed signed of
trauma, Oceanside police Lt. Sean Marchand told the newspaper.

It was unclear how long the woman had been dead. Her stepfather told
police he had not seen or heard from her since Tuesday, according to U-T San
Diego, which reported that the names of the victim and suspect have not been
released.
