Brawl near Viejas leaves several injured, one arrested

ALPINE (CNS) – A brawl involving baseball bat-swinging combatants left
several people injured and at least one assault suspect under arrest at Viejas
Indian Reservation Wednesday.

The fracas on the Alpine-area tribal grounds erupted for unknown reasons
about 9:30 a.m., according to sheriff's officials.

The fight, which reportedly involved at least 10 men and women, moved
across several locations around Woods Lane and Viejas Grade, Lt. Dave Brown
said.

Deputies and detectives intervened and had the disturbance under control
by 10 a.m., the lieutenant said.

Medics took at least one patient to Sharp Memorial Hospital.
