‘Bridges to Beaches’ program introduces students to the beach

MISSION BEACH (KUSI) — The sounds of laughter could be heard all over Mission Beach as more than 100 school kids got a chance of a lifetime.

The program is called, "Bridges to Beaches," and it’s designed to open up a whole new world.

Even though they live only a few miles from the beach, some of these kids have never been to the beach.

While most of these kids know all about the latest video games, this is a whole new universe.

Along with swimming, surfing, kayaks and paddle boards, the kids got to play beach games and learn all about the ocean as well.

And while the kids think this is one fun day at the beach, the things they see could change some of them for life.
