Brush fire burns 300 acres near Camp Pendleton

CAMP PENDLETON (KUSI) – Three hundred acres burned in a brush fire Wednesday afternoon at Camp Pendleton.

According to base authorities, the blaze prompted the closure of a stretch of Basilone Road, but caused no reported structural threats. 

It was unclear what sparked the fire, though weapons training periodically sets dry vegetation ablaze at the base.
