Brush Fire in Murrieta spreads to nearly 1,000 acres

MURRIETA (KUSI) — Firefighters are responding to a blaze burning near Murrieta and Temecula. The Riverside County Fire Department says the fire is estimated at 994 acres.

The fire is burning in area with heavy fuels with a rapid rate of spread.

Mandatory evacuations are now being issued to residents in Copper Canyon South of Calle del Oso Oro between Clinton Keith and Murrieta Creek.

Riverside County Fire Department and CAL Fire were responding to the fire.
