Cal Coast Cares Foundation is awarding up to $35,000 in scholarships

The Cal Coast Cares Foundation has announced it will award up to $35,000 in scholarships this year for college-bound high school seniors and current or former foster students in San Diego or Riverside counties.

“The Cal Coast Cares Foundation scholarship award programs recognizes outstanding students and foster youth for their dedication to academic excellence and community leadership,” said California Coast Credit Union President & CEO Todd Lane. “Sadly, too many foster students spend years in the foster care system moving from one school district to another, so it is tough to find stable ground. Through our scholarship programs, the foundation is determined to provide educational opportunities to help them to find stability and achieve great success.”

Scholarship applications for foster students as well as college-bound high school seniors are available here.

All applications must be received or postmarked no later than March 31, 2018.

In addition, the Foundation will award $12,000 in grants to local educators for classroom-based projects. Information on grant opportunities can be found here. All grant applications must be received or postmarked no later than June 30, 2018.
