California wildfire victims prepare for excess rain

Residents in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties are preparing for a severe rainstorm Tuesday evening.

KUSI Meteorologist Francella Perez says this could be the biggest storm of the season. The storm is expected to pass directly over the Thomas Fire burn areas, bringing heavy rain and potential for more mudslides.

Mandatory evacuation orders have been issued. Santa Barbara’s Montecito neighborhood is expecting a direct hit.

Excess rain is expected until Thursday. See KUSI’s full forecast here.
