Car crashes into Lakeside Home, driver suffers minor injuries

LAKESIDE (KUSI) — One person was injured when a car crashed into a home in Lakeside late Thursday.

The car hit a stop sign just before 11 p.m. near the intersection of Los Coches Road and Castle Court Drive, then hit a pole before crashing into a car in the driveway and then a wall of the home, according to California Highway Patrol.

No one was inside the home when the car hit, but according to one of the residents, this isn’t the first time a car has crashed into the home.

“This is the second car that has hit this house,” Ashley Crothers, a resident of the home said. “The wall in the master bedroom which it is is all broken in and the dresser is moved to the side,” Crothers said.

The driver was taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay.
