Car falls from overpass onto Ingraham Street killing driver

San Diego (KUSI) – A 40-year-old driver was killed Monday night when the vehicle he was driving went off of the Mission Bay Drive ramp and landed on its roof onto Ingraham Street below.  

The incident happened around 8:30 p.m.

Officers were nearby when it happened.  They were assisting another driver in the same area and looked up to witness the accident. 

The man died at the scene.  

It is unknown whether alcohol or speed was a factor in the crash.
