Carl DeMaio explains his “Fix Congress First” plan

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Only 20 percent of Americans approve of the job Congress is doing, and only 17 percent trust their government, according to a new Gallup and Pew research poll.

Republican Carl Demaio is running for the 50th Congressional District seat, and he has a 10-point plan to increase trust in government by forcing members of Congress to live under the same laws as everyone else.

Demaio says if you want accountability and trust in government, you have to start with fixing Congress which, he says, is a breeding ground for corruption and double standards.

Carl DeMaio stopped by Good Morning San Diego to talk about his “Fix Congress First” Plan that he says will “Drain the Swamp” and hold Congress accountable.

Carl DeMaio is one of seven candidates running for the 50th Congressional District.
