Carlsbad 45, Lincoln 0

The Carlsbad Lancers came into tonight’s game making a statement scoring 2 touchdowns early in the first quarter. Running the ball seemed to be a strength in this weekend’s matchup against the Lincoln Hornets. Dylan Rutledge was the go to man for the Lancers this evening, securing the first 2 touchdowns of the first quarter. Dylan is currently averaging 123 yards per game and has definitely been a force to reckon with. The Purple Pit was in full effect as the Lancers protected their turf in their 48-0 win over the Lincoln Hornets. Carlsbad hopes to continue their streak as they host Santa Fe Christian next week.

Although the Lincoln Hornets struggled immensely on both ends of the field, the passion and will to compete was impeccable. The Hornets’ defense tried to stop Rutledge’s running game but he was just too big of a threat. Lincoln has plenty of room for improvement and will be back with a vengeance the following week. This game puts Lincoln at 1-1 for the season; however they look to regroup in preparation for their next matchup. Lincoln will be hosting the Point Loma Pointers with a chance to redeem themselves and advance to 2-1 for their season record.
