Carmel Mountain credit union robbed

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A man sporting Ray-Ban sunglasses and a black hooded sweatshirt robbed a Carmel Mountain-area credit union office Friday.

The thief, who appeared to be in his early 20s, approached a teller at the San Diego County Credit Union branch in the 12300 block of Carmel Mountain Road and demanded cash shortly after noon, according to San Diego police.

After the clerk turned over an undisclosed amount of money, the bandit fled the area to the north.

The robber was described as a roughly 5-foot-9-inch, roughly 175-pound light-skinned Latino. He was carrying a clear plastic cosmetic bag with pink stripes on it, Officer Frank Cali said.
