Carport fire displaces National City residents

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Firefighters extinguished a fire in a carport near a National City apartment building early Wednesday morning.

Four adults and child were displaced by the blaze, which started near the building on C Avenue near 16th Street shortly after 4:30 a.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

No injuries were reported, however the American Red Cross was summoned to assist the displaced residents, a fire dispatcher said.
