Cave Fire in Santa Barbara prompts evacuations

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – A brush fire that started late Monday afternoon in Los Padres National Forest in Santa Barbara County is prompting mandatory evacuations and threatening homes.

The fire was first reported along Highway 154 and East Camino Cielo at around 4:15 p.m. and has grown to 2,500 acres.

The evacuation order includes Painted Cave to Camino Cielo, Hwy 154 east to Ontare Road, as well as the area between Hwy 154 and Patterson Rd.

An evacuation center is set up at the Goleta Valley Community Center, located at 5679 Hollister Rd.
