CBP officers arrest fleeing man

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials arrested a 50-year-old man who had a felony warrant for rape out on him.

Francisco Macias-Trujillo pulled up, with Oregon plates, to the San Ysidro port of entry at 3 a.m.

Officers running a routine check of law enforcement databases discovered the man had an active warrant and took him into custody, CBP spokeswoman Jackie Wasiluk said.

"CBP officers perform the crucial job of inspecting every person that enters the United States," San Diego Field Operations Director Pete Flores of the CBP said. "Their work impacts not just those in our local border community, but communities across the nation. Because of their diligence, this man will now face the charges against him."

His identity was confirmed through his fingerprints and he was taken into custody in connection with the $1.75 million bail warrant charging him
with seven counts of sexual abuse in the first degree, Wasiluk said. He later was booked into jail in San Diego.
