Chargers to play preseason game on national TV

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – The San Diego Chargers have announced they will begin
preseason play Aug. 9 against the Green Bay Packers at Qualcomm Stadium in a
game to be televised by ESPN.

The Chargers lost to the Packers, 45-38, Nov. 6 at Qualcomm Stadium.

The Chargers' other preseason game at Qualcomm Stadium will be against
the Dallas Cowboys in the second week of preseason play. The date has not been
set for the Cowboys' first appearance in San Diego since 2008.

The Chargers will conclude preseason play with a Week 3 game at
Minnesota, whose date has not been set, and an Aug. 30 game at San Francisco.

“From a fan's perspective, you couldn't ask for a better start than to
face the Packers and the Cowboys,” Chargers coach Norv Turner said. “All four
preseason opponents will be a great test for our players and coaches in
preparation for the 2012 season.”
