Charles Alexander’s book for kids on African-American history

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – San Diego author Charles Alexander has a new book, “We Are Our Ancestors Keepers” that shows the contribution of African Ancestors through children’s stories and children illustrations.

“We Are Our Ancestors Keepers” is an educational curriculum for everyone rewriting what is taught and learned in our classrooms today about the history of African Americans and Africans said Alexander.

“The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) curriculum was created as a blueprint for early childhood development for all students to understand that history for African Americans and Africans did not begin at slavery but with early civilizations consisting of great kings, queens, emperors, and warriors,” according to Alexander.
