Chick-Fil-A Alarm Clock Pep Rally: El Camino Wildcats 26, San Marcos Knights 21

The Chick-Fil-A Alarm Clock Pep Rally game in Week Five brings us an exciting 26-21 upset by El Camino over San Marcos.

The Knights built up a 21- 10 lead and took it into the 4th quarter thanks to fantastic plays like the reverse flea flicker to Tyler Rodgers that resulted in a touchdown. El Camino’s Chris Brown found the end zone on the four yard run to start the comeback. San Marcos trying to run out the clock and the ball is fumbled and recovered by the Wildcats Ignacio Josten. The Knights defense was able to hold El Camino to a field goal but that brought the score to within one. San Marcos couldn’t get the offense going and had to punt the ball back to El Camino with 3:55 remaining in the game. Chris Brown barreled his way through on a nice scamper that would set up his second touchdown run. He would finish with 116 yards on the ground. San Marcos with 1:46 remaining, quarterback Bryson Bolin throws sideline but it is intercepted by Wayne Steward sealing the win for the Wildcats. Steward finishes with six catches for 83 yards and one touchdown as well.

El Camino improves to 2-3 while San Marcos drops to 3-2.


The Chick-Fil-A Alarm Clock Pep Rally game in Week Five takes us to El Camino High School as they host San Marcos.

El Camino started the season with a win against Point Loma but has now lost three in a row. Junior Chris Brown gets it done for the Wildcats on the ground. He is averaging just under 150 yards per game and already has six touchdowns on the year. Junior quarterback Jaden Casey has been battling an injury but is now healthy. Last week it was the Wildcat defense that was able to hold Torrey Pines to just one touchdown. The team is young but Coach Jerry Ralph feels like they are just a few plays away from being 3-1.

Meanwhile the Knights are off to a 3-1 start with their first loss coming last week against Oceanside. They are led by senior quarterback Bryson Bolin who has thrown for close to 1,000 yards and 8 touchdowns this season already. Bolin’s main man is Kyle Philips who averages over 100 receiving yards per game while running back Tyler Rodgers has found the end zone five times this season. Junior outside linebacker Josh Bornes is a force to be reckoned with on defense as he averages eleven tackles per game.
