Chula Vista holds meeting on shortage of first responders

A public meeting was held in Chula Vista Thursday to address a personnel shortage in the city’s police and fire departments.

Chula Vista has fewer police officers per capita in San Diego County and most of the state.

The city council recently voted to put a half-cent sales tax measure on the June ballot to fund additional first responders, but not everyone agrees with that strategy.
