Chula Vista man runs over wife repeatedly

CHULA VISTA (CNS) – A search was underway Saturday for the Chula Vista man who allegedly ran down his estranged wife and left the woman dying in the roadway.

Cesar Castillo, 37, was suspected of repeatedly running over over his wife with his white 1998 Chevy Silverado — with California license plate 6H89420 — shortly before 7 p.m. Friday. Chula Vista police said they believe the woman was intentionally, repeatedly run down in the 1100 block of Elm Avenue.

The woman’s name was not immediately released, but she was said to be in her 30s. She died at the scene from “massive head and internal injuries,” police said.

Castillo, who works in the Mission Bay area as a maintenance man, likely drove in the SUV into Mexico, according to the police.

Police said Castillo should be considered armed and dangerous. They asked anyone with additional information on the suspect or his whereabouts to call (619) 585-5665.
