Chula Vista teen gives donuts and water to the homeless weekly

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) –  Andrew Cowling, a sophomore at Cathedral Catholic High School, delivers sweet treats and bottled water to the homeless once a week.

Cowling started out regularly volunteering to give meals at Father Joe’s Villages. He quickly noticed that, often times, dessert was not included in the meals that were being provided. Cowling and his father started giving out donuts to the residents of Father Joe’s and to the men and women who lived on the streets in the surrounding area.

Cowling then noticed that many people didn’t have easy access to clean drinking water, which led him to start handing out bottles of water, as well.

Cowling and his father stopped by to talk about their journey and how you can get involved in their mission.
