SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Good Morning San Diego fitness expert, Cindy Whitmarsh, gave some advice on ways to increase your metabolism.

1. Lift weights, don’t be afraid to lift heavy weights.
2. Increase your protein intake.
3. Drink more cold water.
4. Add high intensity workouts to your weekly routine.
5. Drink coffee or tea in the a.m.
6. Work out in the morning.
7. Eat spicy foods.
8. Get more sleep.
