City Council District 5 race

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – City Councilmember Mark Kersey will not be running for re-election in District 5.

So far, three Democrats and one Republican have put their names in the race.

Isaac Wang, Marni Von Wilpert, and Gary Westerburg are the three Democratic candidates, and Joe Leventhal is the lone Republican in the race.

The 5th District includes the communities of Black Mountain Ranch, Carmel Mountain Ranch, Miramar Ranch North, Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Encantada, Rancho Peñasquitos, Sabre Springs, San Pasqual, Scripps Miramar Ranch and Torrey Highlands.
