City Heights fire causes more than $300,000 in damages
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A City Heights-area fire caused approximately $300,000 in damages early Wednesday morning.
The fire, which damaged two houses and a motor home, erupted for unknown reasons at the home on Violet Street near Pepper Drive. It began around 1:20 a.m. and quickly spread to an adjoining house and the recreational vehicle, Capt. Joseph Amador of the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department said. Firefighters arrived to find a wall of smoke and flames at the front of the main home.
Firefighters were able to rescue several people who had become trapped inside. One person, who was overcome by smoke, refused to be taken to a hospital. No other injuries were reported.
Amador said the cause of the fire had yet to be determined.
