City of San Diego’s new water meter testing equipment

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The City of San Diego will introduce new water meter testing equipment with a demonstration for local news media to show how it works and its various features.

City staff provided a step-by-step presentation of how a water meter is tested to determine if it is working correctly.

The new water meter calibration equipment is an upgrade that more accurately determines water flow and allows for adjustments for multiple meters and different sizes. The new equipment was purchased and installed following concerns by customers about water meter readings.

Deputy Director of the City Utilities Department, Tom Howard, was in studio Tuesday morning to tell us more about it.
