City vehicle crashes into Clairemont home
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A city Parks and Recreation Department truck veered off a Clairemont Mesa street Tuesday afternoon and knocked a fire hydrant off its moorings before crashing into a parked car and a house.
The accident in the 5800 block of Camber Drive occurred about 1:15 p.m., according to San Diego police.
No injuries were reported, but medics evaluated the driver at the scene of the crash as a precaution.
Utility crews were called in to deal with the broken fireplug, and a building inspector was summoned to inspect the house.
It was not immediately clear why the city worker lost control of the truck, SDPD public-affairs Officer Matt Tortorella said.
