Combating the lack of mental health services available for veterans

SAN DIEGO (KUSI)  – Donny O’Malley, a Marine Veteran and the Founder of VET TV joins KUSI to talk about the problem with the lack of mental health services available for veterans and with the way that veterans are portrayed on television.

Many veterans lack accessibility to mental health services once they return home. Thus, homelessness continues to be a major issue among the veteran community.

Furthermore, veteran suicide is a growing problem, with at least 17 suicides reported each day. Irreverent Warriors is a nonprofit that unites veterans and the community in an effort to combat suicide.
