Comic-Con close to two-year extension to stay in San Diego
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Comic-Con International, the largest annual trade show in San Diego, was close to signing a two-year extension to remain at the San Diego Convention Center.
Despite delays in building an expansion on the existing Convention Center, the new extension would keep Comic-Con in San Diego until 2018.
Several other cities, including Las Vegas, have tried to lure the convention away from San Diego with the promise to offer more space. A plan to expand the San Diego Convention Center has been in discussion for years, but the proposed funding source was ruled invalid in court.
