Community living in cars near former Chargers Park

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — The former headquarters of the San Diego Chargers has become a community for people living in their cars and RVs.

Ever since the Chargers moved out, another group of people have moved in.

Not the building itself, but the road outside Chargers Park. It has become a tiny RV park.

Along with the thousands of people sleeping on the streets, it is estimated that more than 1,000 people are sleeping in their cars and trucks on a regular basis in San Diego.

KUSI’s Dan Plante spoke with some of these people near Charger’s Park who are doing their best to make the most out of their situation.
