Coronado Middle School students participate in the 11th annual ‘Take a Vet to School Day’

CORONADO (KUSI) – Coronado Middle School hosted a wonderful event Friday morning to honor veterans and express gratitude for their military service.

KUSI’s Hunter Sowards was live on campus where she spoke with Coronado Mayor Richard Bailey and Rep. Scott Peters (CA-52) about the outreach program.

She also spoke with some of Coronado Middle School’s students to hear their thoughts on the event.

Hunter posted the following video to her Facebook page showing, “98-year-old Tom Rice joining other service-members for the line of gratitude. The 11th annual event gives kids the opportunity to thank a veteran, but also hear their stories firsthand. Nearly every branch of the military was represented today. Incredible.”
