Coronado HS grad one of two teens dead at Pomona music festival

POMONA (KUSI) – A recent graduate of Coronado High School was one of two teenagers who died at a music festival in Pomona over the weekend, it was announced Tuesday.

19-year-old Katie Dix graduated from Coronado in 2014. The other victim was 18-year-old Tracy Nguyen of West Covina. It was suspected that both of the victims passed away as a result of drug overdoses.

The two girls attended the HARD Summer music festival in Pomona over the weekend.

Live Nation, who helped put on the event, reported that one woman suffered from cardiac arrest, while another had possible seizure symptoms.

Los Angeles County Supervisors have stated that they will introduce a measure Tuesday that will seek to ban major music festivals on county property, pending the outcome of the investigation.
