Corvette left on beach to be swept into ocean
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – San Diego police Friday were investigating an incident in Pacific Beach in which someone drove a yellow Corvette onto the beach and left the pricey vehicle to be swept into the ocean after it got stuck in the sand.
It happened near Crystal Pier around 9:10 p.m. Thursday, San Diego police said.
Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle doing “doughnuts” and “spin- outs” on the sand before it became stuck, police said.
Officers detained a man and a woman in the area for questioning and later arrested both on suspicion of public drunkenness. Police said neither was immediately linked to the Corvette, but that the investigation was ongoing.
The Corvette was recovered, according to police.
