Coyotes: The business of smuggling
SAN YSIDRO (KUSI) – With President Trump’s announcement to send thousands of troops to the Southern border, human smugglers often jack-up their fees to get immigrants onto U.S. soil and around the extra security.
Researchers on the ground say they’ve seen the cost could go up from $6,000 to $10,000 dollars. Tougher enforcement usually leads to higher prices.
These ruthless smugglers use anything they can to their advantage with no regard to the human lives they’re smuggling.
KUSI’s Tony Bernhardt Jr. details the business of smuggling with this special report.
