Crash in Chollas View sends one to hospital
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A multiple-vehicle crash on state Route 94 in Chollas View Tuesday sent a person to a hospital and prompted authorities to close two lanes.
The crash involving a tractor trailer, a motorcycle and several other vehicles was reported shortly after 7 a.m. in the westbound lanes, west of Euclid Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
One of the vehicles struck the back of the big rig, which struck a motorcyclist, CHP officials said. The person who reported the crash told the CHP the truck’s driver was not initially aware he hit the motorcycle.
One person was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital to be treated for injuries suffered in the crash, a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher said.
The crash was blocking two westbound lanes and a SigAlert was issued, authorities said.
