Crawford 41, Foothills Christian 7

Crawford entered the game (0-3), frustrated, and disappointed from the slow start to the season. Foothills Christian can say the same with their (0-4) start to the season. Both teams knew what was on the line for this game, but one showed out. Tonight’s game was hosted at the Junior Seau Sports Complex due to a lack of home fields for both teams. The Crawford Colts’ coach Michael Wright made sure his team was ready this week.

Crawford opened their first drive with a touchdown thanks to a heavy run game. Fullback Josh Gabriel opened the drive off with a 37 yard run that later set up a quarterback keeper from Santos Perez. After a failed 2 point conversion, Foothills Christian continued their slow offensive start by turning the ball over with a fumble. Crawford was able to turn that turnover into points by continuing their successful run game. Josh Gabriel was able to punch it in from three yards out to put Crawford up 14-0 after converting their 2 point conversion. As soon as Foothills Christian began to gain some much needed momentum in the game, the drive was depleted by an interception from corner Angel Chang. This game was all Crawford as Raymond Gabriel, junior running back put the dagger into the Knights to seal the game with a 16 yard touchdown run. Crawford went on to win big 41-7 over the struggling Foothills Christian Knights. Crawford improves to (1-3) on the season and will try to continue the success they had today.
