Crossroads of the West Gun Show returns to Del Mar Fairgrounds

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The Crossroads of the West Gun Show is returning to the Del Mar Fairgrounds this weekend after a lawsuit was filed against the legislation that aimed to put a stop to the event.

The gun show has been held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds for the past 30 years despite opposition from outspoken gun violence activists.

The Del Mar Fairgrounds Board of Directors voted last year to suspend the event until California officials developed new safety policies for gun shows. However, a judge’s ruling in June has allowed the gun show to return to the Fairgrounds.

In September, California legislators passed Assembly Bill 893, which bans the sale of guns or ammunition anywhere on the Del Mar Fairgrounds property starting in 2021. Organizers said they plan to fight the bill if it becomes a law.
