CSU Chancellor names finalists to replace Weber
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – The three finalists to succeed Stephen Weber as president of San Diego State University were named Friday and will visit the campus next week.
The finalists are:
— Elliot Hirshman, provost and senior vice president, University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He will be on campus on Monday.
— Steven Leath, vice president for research and sponsored programs, University of North Carolina system. He will make a Tuesday visit.
— Paul J. Zingg, president of California State University, Chico. Zingg will come next Thursday.
Each will hold an open, public forum at 4:30 p.m. on the day of his visit. Otherwise, they will take part in meetings and interviews.
The California State University Chancellor's Office is expected to name a successor to Weber, who has served as the SDSU president for 15 years, during the week of May 9.
