Customer helps thwart attempted robbery of Clairemont electronics store

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – San Diego police were on the lookout Tuesday for a
gunman who got into a physical confrontation with a customer while trying to
rob an electronics store in Clairemont Mesa.

The attempted armed robbery of the Radio Shack at Genesee and Balboa
avenues was reported at 8:45 p.m. Monday, according to San Diego police Officer
Dino Delimitros.

The man was wielding a gun and wearing a white T-shirt tied around his
face when he announced he was robbing the business, Delimitros said in a
statement. He then got into a physical confrontation with a customer and ended
up running out of the business empty-handed, the officer said. No injuries were
reported.
