Darrell Issa details his domestic policies and campaign for the 50th Congressional District
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Darrell Issa, candidate for the 50th Congressional District seat currently held by Duncan D Hunter, stopped by Good Morning San Diego to detail his domestic policies.
Formerly, Issa was former Chairman of the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee, he served as the top government watchdog in Congress.
He is the grandson of immigrants, and a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, Darrell Issa was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He enlisted in the Army during his senior year in high school and attended college on an ROTC scholarship. In the Army, Issa served as a bomb disposal technician, tank platoon commander, and a computer R&D specialist. He attained the rank of Captain.
There are currently three other Republican candidates challenging Congressman Duncan D. Hunter for his seat in the 50th Congressional District, Carl DeMaio and Brian Jones.
Two independent candidates, David Edick and Helen Horvath. As well as the sole Democrat challenger, Ammar Campo-Najjar, who narrowly lost to Hunter in 2018.
