Del Mar Racetrack prepares for Opening Day

DEL MAR (KUSI) – The Del Mar Horse Racing season is less than a week away!

KUSI’s Allie Wagner was live at the Del Mar Racetrack with the details on how everyone is preparing for Opening Day 2019.

She spoke to Mac McBride, the Director of Marketing for the Del Mar Racetrack. McBride told Allie how Del Mar will be a fresh start to the horse racing season after 30 horses unfortunately died at Santa Anita this Summer.

Later on Good Morning San Diego, KUSI’s Allie Wagner spoke to Leif Dickinson, the Director of Plants, about everything him and his crews have been doing to get ready for Opening Day and the 2019 season.

Dickinson is in charge of the estimated 55,000 plants, bushes, and flowers that go into the ground after the San Diego County Fair closes.
