With three games left in the season and Ramona running away with the league, both teams are hoping to avoid a last place finish in the Palomar League. Del Norte has struggled on both offense and defense, They have been outscored 50 to 289 and have scored more than seven points just once this season.
Mount Carmel, who has also struggled on both sides of the ball, will look to their defense to win them their second league game of the season. The Sun Devils have recorded 20 sacks this season, according to maxpreps.com. Sophomore Ty Virgin and senior Kevin Rowe each have five sacks.
Who they will be pressuring in the backfield remains to be seen. The Nighthawks have had five different players complete passes this season. The lack of consistency at quarterback has not helped the offense put points on the board.
