Scripps Ranch 31, Del Norte 7

The Scripps Ranch Falcons played their first home game of the season on Friday, taking on the Del Norte Nighthawks.

Both teams were going into this game coming off a win from last Friday’s season opener.

The Falcons started off strong in the first quarter, getting on the board first as Troy Williams found the end zone making it 7-0 Scripps Ranch.

The Falcons continued to put on the pressure in the second quarter when quarterback Dillon Gebase threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Charlie Fontana going into second quarter, 17-0.

Del Norte responded with a short 1-yard run into the end zone making it 17-7 going into halftime.

The Falcons finished the game strong in the fourth quarter to secure the win at home.

Once again, Gebase threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Rashad Griffin Jr. Scripps Ranch continued to lead, 24-7.

The Falcon quarterback had himself a game completing 15 out of 21 passes, leading to 202 yards and three touchdown passes on the night.

The final score was 31-7 in favor of Scripps Ranch. The Falcons will go into Week Three with a two-game winning streak.

Preview:
As the opening week of Friday Night Lights comes to an end, we have some more football to look forward to this weekend.

The visiting Del Norte Nighthawks (1-0) will take on the Scripps Ranch Falcons (1-0) for a non-league matchup up this Friday night at 6:30.

This will be a new matchup for both teams going into Friday’s game because neither of these teams faced each other on last year’s playing field.

Both the Nighthawks and the Falcons started off the season with a win, going into this weeks game with some momentum to continue the winning streak.

The visiting Del Norte Nighthawks were more than successful on offense last game, as quarterback Nolan Booher, completed more than half of his passes, hitting wide receiver Alex Moore in the end zone, who now leads the team in receiving yards.

The Nighthawks had a successful offense in the opening game, looking to continue to produce in order to take Friday’s win.

The Falcons are coming back from playing on the road looking forward to performing for the first time in the season at their home field.

Junior quarterback Dillon Gebase will take on his first home game of the season, hoping to have another successful Friday night. The Nighthawks were able to put up a high-scoring game last Friday, let’s see if they can repeat the aggression of the offense coming into this week.
