Demand for plastic surgery surges, causing Americans to cross border to Mexico for procedures

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Americans spent more than $14.5 billion on aesthetic procedures last year.

These procedures includes things like liposuction, facial fillers, and hair replacement. With so much demand, supply for these services has stretched across the border.

This practice of crossing international lines to receive medical procedures is called “medical tourism”.

KUSI’s Ginger Jeffries gave a Special Report with the details.
