Deputies investigating threatening calls made against Guajome Park Academy

VISTA (KUSI) – Deputies from the Vista Sheriff’s Station are investigating who made threatening phone calls Friday against Guajome Park Academy located at 2000 N. Santa Fe Avenue in Vista.

The calls were made to the school around 12:30 p.m.

As a precaution, the school was placed on lockdown. Nearby Vista High School was also briefly placed on lockdown, but that has since been lifted.

Deputies set up a perimeter and searched the area with the help of Sheriff’s

ASTREA overhead and Sheriff’s K-9. Nothing suspicious was found on campus and the lockdown was lifted at 2:00 p.m. The investigation is ongoing.

Guajome was on a half day schedule, so most of the students had already gone home. Deputies escorted the students who were still on campus to their parents.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call the Sheriff’s Department at (858) 565-5200.

Those wanting to remain anonymous can call the Crime Stoppers Student Speaking Out Hotline at (888) 580-8477.

A $1,000 reward is available for the information that leads to an arrest.
