Despite strong winds, skies are sunny for San Diego

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — Just in time for the weekend, skies will be clear and temperatures will be warm Friday, and it will only get warmer. Despite clear conditions, a wind advisory is still in effect until Saturday.

A ridge of high pressure over San Diego’s coastal waters will build Friday, gradually increasing temperatures over the weekend.

The high wind warning that was in effect Thursday, lessened to a high wind advisory at 5 a.m. Friday morning. The advisory will last until 11 a.m. Saturday. Gusts will pick up along the coast later tonight but areas affected the most heavily include mountains and deserts.

The wind is creating harsher waves so a small craft advisory is also in effect until Saturday at 11 a.m.

Despite the wind, conditions remain warm and clear. Friday’s high temperatures are 69 degrees along the coast, 75 degrees inland, 56 degrees in the mountains.
