District 7 Council Race

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Five council districts will be on the 2020 ballot, and two of them are open seats, including District 7 where Scott Sherman is termed out

As of today, there are five Democrats and two Republicans.

Last November the city came under one party rule by the Democrats, who are advancing a progressive agenda. That’s an issue for Republican Tom Keliinoi, who believes the city is going in the wrong direction, essentially enacting laws that address only part of a particular problem.

That’s why he’s running for City Council.

He’s a former communal executive, a small business owner, and a charter school advocate. He has a chance if he can convince Independents who outnumber Republicans in his district.
