Div. V Championship Preview: Vincent Memorial vs. La Jolla Country Day

Vincent Memorial and La Jolla Country Day School set for a final game to determine the Division 5 champion this Friday.

The Scots sit at 10-1 including a 3-0 record in league play. To get to this point they had a close 24-15 victory over Crawford and then showcased their skills with a shut out victory over Classical Academy. Vincent Memorial has several guys that can run the ball. Quarterback Hector Robinson has 13 touchdowns on the season with his favorite receiver Ernesto Araujo has 11 of those.

On the other side of the ball Coach Tyler Hales has his 6-6 team into the Finals. The young Torrey’s have been hot in the playoffs with big 61-21 win over Maranatha and a 53-20 win over Holtville, both on the road. The team is lead by their sophomore stud quarterback Braxton Burmeister. He has 27 passing touchdowns and 12 rushing touchdowns on the season totally over 3,000 all purpose yards. His favorite receiver Brennan Goring has 15 touchdowns on the year.

Look for this one to be a battle for the title. Kickoff set for PM at Southwestern College. Highlights can be seen on the Prep Pigskin Report at 10:30pm.
