Woman found safe after dive team called to Mission Bay for recovery

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — 8 a.m. — The woman who was reported missing in Mission Beach Monday morning has been found safe at the San Diego Yacht Club, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue. 

7:30 a.m. — A search and recovery was underway in Mission Bay just after 7 a.m. Monday for a woman who was lost in the water, according to police.

Police received a call just after 6 a.m. about a woman who entered the water near Mission Bay and didn’t come out. San Diego Fire-Rescue and a dive team were called in to conduct a recovery operation, according to police.

Police have not released the identity of the woman but they obtained the her ID and backpack and determined that she was a 50-year-old transient.
