DMV building in Hillcrest renovations to get pushed back

HILLCREST (KUSI)- The Department of Motor Vehicles pushed back the plans to renovate the Hillcrest office.

Originally the DMV was planning on building a smaller new facility to replace the old one.

Now after the community persuaded the DMV to reconsider the plans the building will be renovated into a new, vibrant center to reflect the Hillcrest community.

“The DMV is going to back to the drawing board and draw up some proposals and what i believe will actually result in a better project.” said State Assembly Member Todd Gloria.

The new plan is expected to improve user experience at the DMV and save tax payers money.

Demolition on the building has been pushed back so city officials can perfect the new plan.
