“Don’t Risk It, Fix It.” Takata Airbag Recall Event

CARLSBAD (KUSI) – The Takata recall is the largest recall in U.S. automotive history, involving roughly 37 million vehicles, where driving these vehicles with out fixing the airbags families are at risk. Potentially dangerous airbag inflators can rupture when the airbag deploys, spraying sharp metal fragments inside the cabin.

On December 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Toyota Carlsbad’s Service Center will be taking in affected Vehicles for Toyota and Scion vehicles manufactured between 2003 and 2013. Customers that bring their vehicles on that day will receive free car rental, free car wash, free lunch and a $25 Toyota Carlsbad gift certificate.

“Toyota Carlsbad is committed to customer safety, so the ‘Don’t Risk It, Fix It,” campaign is a great program for customers to get their vehicle airbags replaced at no charge.” Said Ivan Mendelson, general manager. “Until your airbag is fixed, you are putting your friends and family in danger every time you drive and Toyota Carlsbad is here to make it easy.” Mendelson continued.

Customers can also schedule their airbag repair prior to the event on December 10, online at www.toyotacarlsbad.com
